But that was then and now: here is what's coming up:

This weekend, March 22 and 23, the annual Pond Rocket Cup event takes place at the Vankleek Hill Community Centre. Admission for tonight is just $5 and $8 for Saturday, or you can obtain a weekend pass for just $10. Part of the proceeds from the door will be going towards Vankleek Hill Minor Hockey! This Sunday, March 24, at 4 p.m., Knox Presbyterian Church is the location for "Stabat Mater", a concert featuring Amaryllis, The Sparrows Children's Choir and the Sinfonia Sacra Orchestra. Tickets are: $20 each.

This Wednesday, March 27, Heritage Lodge, located at 48 Wall Street, celebrates its 25th anniversary with an afternoon of entertainment, beginning at 1 p.m. Come join our senior citizens as they celebrate this milestone!

Next up: On Sunday, April 7, Vankleek Hill welcomes the Canadian Guitar Quartet, a concert sponsored by the Hawkesbury Rotary Club. The 2 p.m. concert takes place at Knox Presbyterian Church and is a fundraiser for the Vankleek Hill Music Festival Summer Music and Arts Camp. NEW IN TOWN: Recently, Le Retrovita opened its doors in Vankleek Hill. Call it an eclectic café, where you can buy coffee, vintage collectibles, and find unusual memorabilia there, too! Meet Michel Figoli, cinema enthusiast and come meet him to talk about your vinyl collection! La Retrovita is located at 52 Main Street East. Visit: www.laretrovita.com

As you can see, there are many good reasons to visit Vankleek Hill!
While you are here, come sample Beau’s All Natural's brand new Wild Oats Series beer called Wag the Wolf: a refreshing, hop-forward 6% abv weissbier designed to pair with the changing seasons. Wag the Wolf is part of the Beau’s Wild Oats Series, a family of Beau’s beers designed to challenge the drinker’s palate with bold flavours, interesting ingredients, and innovative styles that begin with respect for brewing traditions — and then break the rules. The Beau’s Wild Oats Series is available on tap at select restaurants and pubs across Ontario; a list is available at www.beaus.ca.
