Gingerbread Capital of Ontario

Hello everyone!

What could be better than summer weather in the spring?
All of the Vankleek Hill events that are coming up, that's what!
Take a look at what's happening and be sure to mark your calendars, tell your friends and plan a fun outing in Vankleek Hill soon!

This weekend, on Saturday, May 11, catch the squaredancing competition and dance at the Vankleek Hill Community Centre on Saturday evening.

Everyone is gearing up for Vankleek Hill's first spring event: the May Show Festival takes place on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19! Don't miss the artists, the crafts, the song and dance on the Main Street stage (dancers from Thailand and Egypt and much, much more!) and the food kiosques! Wear a hat and come for a leisurely stroll around the Village of Vankleek Hill. It's a special treat to walk down Main Street, a portion of which is closed to traffic on both days.
The Higginson Tower will be open to visitors during the May Show Festival.

On Saturday, June 1, the traffic jams begin in town, when earlybird buyers start patrolling while looking for yard sales at TRASH AND TREASURE, Eastern Ontario's BIGGEST town-wide yard sale! Come for the sales EVERYWHERE or if you are an out-of-town vendor who wants to bring stuff to town to sell, call 1-877-678-3327, extension 1002 to book your prime space along the main drag! Bring a trailer! The fun happens between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. but you know, there IS that earlybird thing, so plan to arrive early for the best deals!
It all happens rain or shine, so if it rains, bring an umbrella. NEW THIS YEAR!! If it rains, our out-of-town vendors (or local folks, too, if they wish) can report to the Vankleek Hill Community Centre where we will have a large indoor space to create our very own indoor flea market for the day! Remember: if it rains, check the sales around town, but come visit the Vankleek Hill Community Centre at 36 Mill Street (turn off High Street).

NEW IN TOWN: Sam's Kitchen should be open around June 1 (right next door to The Review). Stop in and visit Sam in her newly-created commercial kitchen. Pick up prepared foods, coffee, muffins and much more! Don't forget to stop in to visit Jade Garden, right across the street from Sam's Kitchen!

As you can see, there are many good reasons to visit Vankleek Hill!
While you are here, take a taste-tour at Beau’s All Natural Brewing Company on Terry Fox Drive. Beau’s is available on tap at select restaurants and pubs across Ontario; a list is available at www.beaus.ca.

Visit www.vankleekhill.ca to find out more about THESE AND ALL the upcoming events in Vankleek Hill!
