Hello! JUST EIGHT DAYS TO GO!  Is everybody ready for a good time?

The Vankleek Hill Christmas Home Tour takes place on Saturday, November 7, 2015.
We are really pleased with the SIX BEAUTIFUL homes (five heritage homes and one newly-constructed home which will be lavishly decorated with holiday finery inside and out for that day. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
We have SEVEN DIFFERENT DECORATORS decorating our six homes!

Our decorators are:
Grace Clermont of Vankleek Cottage in Vankleek Hill        Lise St-André, Interior Designer, of Vankleek Hill
Donna Doucette, Designer, of Vankleek Hill                Josée Bonneville of Pridham’s Auction House
Kim Verronneau, of Joseph Emil Design                Bridget MacDonald, Designer, of Vankleek Hill
Lorel Crawford, of Belle Design

There are more activities scheduled for that day.  Visit Jan Amell Photography at 22 Main Street and don Victorian costumes furnished by Grace Clermont and have your photo taken in a Vintage Sleigh (supplied by Ouimet Farms Adventure). Create your own souvenir of this fun day!

ADVANCE TICKETS are a must for the Home Tour. You can buy online and read more about events by visiting www.vankleekhill.ca. Click on Events and select the Christmas Home Tour page. BILINGUAL INFORMATION online.

NEW THIS YEAR: Buy a ticket for our Table-4-16! For just $5, you have a chance to win everything on the table: linens, china, cutlery, bases, flowers, champagne and more! Visit the Higginson house (home of Arbor Gallery), which will be decorated for the home tour and see this AMAZING Table-4-16 -- all decorated by professional decorator Lise St. André.

• In-Town shuttles (courtesy of Re/Max Supreme - John Clouston, Beau’s All-Natural Brewing Company and Pink Bow Tie) between houses and activities will ensure visitors make the most of their time here!
• Specialty vendors at each home will make the time pass in case there are line-ups. Meet our “outside” volunteers who will talk about the history of each home. Read about specialty vendors online.

This event is being organized and sponsored by The Review, which is sharing proceeds from this year’s event. A minimum of $400 will be donated to each of the following organizations, who kindly provide us with volunteers to make our event run so smoothly. A special thanks to Lisa Henderson of Hillcrest Funeral Home, for acting as our most-efficient volunteer coordinator and supporter of this event. The following organizations will receive funds from this year’s event:

The Vankleek Hill and District Horticultural Society  • The Vankleek Hill Fiddle and Dance Association  • The VCI School Council • The Vankleek Hill Agricultural Society   • The Vankleek Hill and District Historical Society  • Healing Harps and Drums

PLEASE FEEL INVITED to organize a special event at YOUR business location on November 7. In 2014, more than 900 visitors attended this event and there were spouses also who were looking for things to do in town on that day.
Knox Presbyterian Church, Trinity United Church and St. John’s Anglican Church are hosting either luncheons or refreshments (and live music) on that day, but our restaurants will be busy on November 7, too. We are aiming for 1,000 tickets being sold, so imagine 1,000 people wanting to eat lunch - all at about the same time!

Also something to think about: people often arrive early on that day, so opening your store or business before 10 a.m. and being sure to put an OPEN or WELCOME sign out would be great. It’s never too early to think about Christmas! Thanks to everyone who does something special to make visitors feel extra welcome in our town!
