Greetings from Vankleek Hill as we gear up for a busy month!

On Sunday, May 1, the Russell Gauley Pancake Breakfast takes place at the Vankleek Hill Community Centre from 8 to 1 p.m. Much more than just pancakes, this full breakfast is a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society and is run entirely by volunteers: cooks, servers and organizers!

Attention, boomers and trivia buffs! We are kicking off May with a Trivia Night hosted by The Review on May 1 at 7 p.m. at the Windsor Tavern! There will be prizes for the winners and door prizes, too! (See more info at the end of this newsletter.)
Please get your advance tickets at The Review or reserve by calling 1-877-678-3327.

The Vankleek Hill Music Festival is in full swing this weekend (April 29, 30 and May 1) and on May 6, 7 and 8. Visit for the complete schedule for this non-competitive festival and on May 8 at 7:30 p.m., don't miss the infamous ADULT NIGHT featuring adult music students. All concerts take place at Knox Presbyterian Church on High Street in Vankleek Hill.

On Friday, May 6, it's FUN FRIDAY at The Review! Come meet Tara MacWhirter of Garden Path Home Made Soap and pick up the perfect gift for Mother's Day! Renew your subscription to The Review or buy a new subscription for just $33 and receive a free watch! The fun happens between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at 76 Main Street East in Vankleek Hill. Come enjoy refreshments with us! The first 33 visitors will each receive a pink carnation!

On Saturday, May 7, it's the annual Square Dance Competition at the Vankleek Hill Community Centre, hosted by the Vankleek Hill Fiddle and Square Dance Association.
Come watch the dancing!

May 21 and 22, the May Show returns to Vankleek Hill! Artists and their works will be at various locations in Vankleek Hill. Crafters will fill the Main Street and non-stop entertainment will be on the Main Street stage!

Let's Dance, Vankleek Hill! A special ballroom and Latin dance evening takes place on Saturday, May 28 upstairs at the Vankleek Hill Community Centre with Josée Noël. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. Come meet couples from Let's Dance Ottawa -- dance and lift your spirits! This is kind a year-end party for the regular dancers but it is also an open house invitation to the community to come and dance!

Remember that you can stop in for a taste-tour at Beau's All-Natural Brewing Company any time, enjoy a meal at one of our restaurants in town, visit Arbor Gallery at 36 Home Avenue or take a stroll around town and visit our historic murals!

Last but not least, remember that if you are from out of town, you can book a spot along our town's Main Street for Saturday, June 4, by calling us at The Review! Visit the Trash and Treasure web page for tips and tricks.
