ALWAYS on the first Saturday in November featuring five heritage homes lavishly decorated for the holidays.

If you purchase online please print out your PayPal receipt and bring it with you to The Review office 8:30 A.M. on tour day or before to pick up your ticket and the “Tour Map” of the houses! TICKETS: $22 per person.

BUS DEPARTURE TIME: 9 a.m. Departure for Vankleek Hill from Plaza Pointe Claire (click here to find out where to park and catch the bus!) and the name on the bus is “Coach” in the mall’s parking lot closer to Donegani Avenue (where the green bubble marked B is on the map). Join your hostess Ella who will be waiting for you as you board the bus. Ella will accompany the group to Vankleek Hill and make sure your day gets off to a great start!

HOUSE #1 :170 Main Street.
This home is yet another of Vankleek Hill’s beautiful brick ladies. A delightfully symmetrical exterior with a beautiful rear outdoor verandah and newly-built garage that looks as if it has always been there! This family home will enchant you with its cosy interior!

OUTSIDE HOME #1: Enjoy a taste of hot apple cider courtesy of the Vankleek Hill Farmers’ Market. This is LOCALLY MADE apple cider, sold regularly at the Vankleek Hill Farmers’ Market, which takes place every Saturday (Yes, on November 5, too!) in the beautiful new VCI Cafetorium. Right across from MacEwen Gas station on Highway 34. The Farmers’ Market is open 9 to 1 p.m. Be sure to stop in for delicious breads, honey, jams, jellies, chutneys and so much more!

HOME #2 :
214 County Road 10 (East).
You are in for a treat at this heritage stone home! Beautifully decorated inside, this home features exposed stone walls inside and lovely flooring, woodwork and heaps of character! (This home is right next door to House #3).

This brick heritage home has been in the same family for more than a century. Now owned by a third generation, come visit and see recent renovations, an updated kitchen and holiday decorating with nature in mind!

OUTSIDE HOME #2: Meet Stephanie Gagnon, one of the owners of Fledermaus Farm, a Local Organic Micro-Bakery. Tasty sourdough breads, yeast breads, brownies, baklava, jam, organic granola, oatcakes, Chelsea buns, pretzels and so much more! Featuring on tour day: maple baklava aka Maklava, and dip assortments – kalamata tapenade, spicy red pepper dip, organic tzatziki, and garlic lover’s dip. Mini-baguettes, and other pickles and preserves for sale, too!

44 Derby Avenue.
A stately historic home on one of the town’s oldest streets! You will love the generous proportion of the room interiors in this home. A lovely large kitchen at the rear. These homeowners decided to live with colour! Check out the unusual tones in the rooms which seem to change colour as the light changes. OUTSIDE HOME #4: Something unusual: Try a lavender mini-cupcake, courtesy of Vert Fourchette and pick up some other goodies to take home, too! Vert Fourchette is located at: 117 Main Street East in Vankleek Hill in another of our beautiful brick homes! Urban-style cuisine, delicious desserts, Espresso machine and fabulous coffee!! Also: lots of foods to take home with you from the Mary’s Fine Foods gourmet food shop. Don’t make supper tonight! Buy something to bring home with you.

OUTSIDE HOME #5: Meet the members of the Dalkeith History Committee, who will be selling cookies, apple cider and heritage cookbooks.This friendly group helped Dalkeith celebrate its 200th anniversary this year! And trust us: their cookies are old-fashioned goodness using old family recipes!
NEW THIS YEAR! A shuttle bus will stop outside each home every 15 minutes to help you make the most of your day and help you get around our little town with no fuss, no muss!

Mario and Chantal purchased Mary’s Country Kitchen a few years ago, and re-opened in this new location in May 2011. Check out the Decadent Market, a gourmet and fine food shop featuring many local food specialties plus their very own hand-made specialties under the brand: Mary’s Fine Foods!
