PRIVATE SINGING LESSONS

Find your true voice!

I am originally from Québec City, where I graduated from Laval University with degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education, followed by graduate studies in choral conducting.

I taught middle school Band, Choir, and French for over 30 years for the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, establishing an award-winning band programme at Goulbourn Middle School. I founded the Intermediate Music Subject Council for the OCDSB, supporting teachers and organizing enrichment activities for students. In 2004 I received the OCDSB Arts Recognition Award, for excellence in Music Education and the promotion of the Arts in Ottawa. During this time, I also served as musical director for several west-end churches. I am currently directing the three choirs (children, teens, and adults) of the All Voices Community Choir, in Ottawa.

My private voice lessons include vocal technique, music literacy, ear training, diction, stage presence, repertoire development, and music history. I will also help you to prepare auditions, festival appearances,, or RCM exams. My goal is to help my students “find” their true voices, and to help them to explore a variety of repertoire. Each lesson is different, and is tailored to the unique needs of each student. I strive to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment. I teach in either English or French.

I welcome students age 10 or older.

Our first ‘lesson” is complimentary, as we meet, I hear you sing, and we begin to establish a rapport.

I teach in Vankleek Hill, where I have lived for 9 years.
